This is a fantastic opportunity to support and boost the confidence, emotional well-being and life-chances of disadvantaged and vulnerable young people through an innovative learning programme that brings them together with gentle rescued horses. Established in 1952, HorseWorld Trust is a registered charity based in Whitchurch, near Bristol, committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing horses, ponies and donkeys in need. Our Welfare department provides a home to all our new arrivals, including sick, neglected and traumatised horses and ponies. We have a team of trained staff committed to their care and rehabilitation and eventual re-homing. We currently have responsibility for circa 300 equines, including around 100 on site. HorseWorld also runs a ground-breaking educational programme called Discovery which supports emotional growth and learning in young people through hands-on experience with our rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. HorseWorld is recruiting for a flexible, adaptable and patient individual to join our Discovery team in a key role. The role includes facilitating and delivering Discovery sessions, developing the Discovery course curriculum and the development of the training package for new Facilitators, co-ordination of mentoring support for other Facilitators and exploring accreditation options for Facilitators. The successful candidate will have a background in the education sector working with primary and/or secondary school age children and recent horse-handling experience and up-to-date equine knowledge. Additionally the ability to engage with children, young people and adults that may have SEMH and or additional learning needs and a calm, confident manner around horses and people with an empathetic mind-set are required. To apply for this role please download and complete an application form from our website www.horseworld.org.uk/about-us... and submit this with a covering letter. For a postal application please ring 01275 832425. Please note - Applicants are welcome to send a CV in addition to the Application Form, but the Application Form must also be completed. The deadline for applications for this role is: Midday on Wednesday 5th May 2021.
