GROOMS JOBS BOARD

Experienced groom required for a multi disciplined showing yard of 11 horses, including 3 National Champion part-breds, 1 of whom is a brood mare, 1 ridden and shown at top level in Riding Horse and part-bred classes and 1 in-hand youngster.

We also have 3 retired mares, the 2017 HOYS champion Harness Horse of the Year and 2 other Private driving horses, including a well known Country turnout Welsh Section D and a youngster, 2 ridden pure bred Arabians also shown at a high level.

We seek a person who is experienced in horse husbandry, knows how to recognise and deal with medical issues and who is able to pull, plait, clip and turnout to a very good standard, but also willing to undertake all general yard duties, mucking out, sweeping up and caring for the stables, paddocks, harness etc.

We are very rurally based and set in the midst of Thetford Forest - accessible between Watton and Thetford, but have a peaceful and special property, with stunning off road riding and driving.

You don't need to be an experienced rider or carriage driver, but if you want to do either, we are happy. A driver, with own car is essential and we prefer non smokers.

Own horse considered.

Start around 2nd week of August, as our current Head Groom of three and a half years will be moving on to a new career.

You will be working with one other full time groom who has been with us for many years and a maintenance person who assists with mucking out and heavier duties, together with the owners of the Stud, who are very involved with the horses. However able to take sole charge on occasion.

We are looking for a professional, easy going, but experienced groom, who is a team player and who has high standards.

An experienced trailer driver is a plus but not essential. Ideally live out, though we do have very good overnight accommodation available and may consider offering this full time for the right person. 5.5 - 5 days per week.
