Group 1 winning trainer, Richard Hughes is looking to recruit a second Travelling Head Person to join his top quality team.
Job Description
- Travelling horses to the races and sales
- Applicants should be competent and confident saddling horses and overseeing all aspects of their care at the racecourse
- Full liaison with owners at the races in the absence of the trainer
- Liaising with the Trainer remotely, if not in attendance at the races
- Opportunities to travel abroad with overseas runners at times
- Assisting in the organisation and maintenance the racing tack room (colours, tack, staff, clothing etc)
- Maintenance of horseboxes eg.
- Cleaning after racing and reporting any faults to the office
- Riding out and general yard duties when not racing.
Requirements
- Applicants should have a full, clean driving license and be confident driving a two horse (3.5T) horsebox.
- Applicants should be experienced and confident in travelling horses, well organised and able to work as part of a team.
