Take part in BGA e learning courses to improve your knowledge and gain certifications. These are all free for you as a BGA member!

Groom Clean is an interactive e-learning course which will give you an understanding of the importance of anti-doping and controlled medication in equestrian sports.  

The course covers both the technical aspects of anti-doping, the testing procedure and practical stable management tips on how to avoid an anti-doping rule violation. 

On completion of the course you will receive a Groom Clean certificate.

 

 

 

The BEDMAX Certification in Bedding Management is aimed at promoting the health benefits associated with good bedding management and stable hygiene.

Following completion of the course, you should be equipped with the correct information needed to understand the risks associated with each type of bedding, know how different types of bedding are made, understand the importance of good hygiene and know the rules for making a bed.

 

 

Certificate in First Aid Essentials is a bespoke online first aid course that any groom or yard manager can take. This online first aid training equips you with the skills and knowledge which could help to save someone’s life.
   

 

 

What the personal accident policy covers you for:

  • Whilst at work
  • All stable duties – mucking out, grooming, washing off, turning out
  • Clipping
  • Riding – including hacking and jumping
  • Hunting
  • Lunging
  • Breaking in
  • Holding horse for a vet and other procedures
  • Travelling horses both in the UK and abroad
  • Competing in line with your job including: jumping, dressage, eventing
  • Injuries that may happen to you whilst you are teaching - but you must also be grooming as part of your duties and not be a sole instructor

What the personal accident policy doesn’t cover you for:

  • Riding in a race, point to point or team chase
  • Stunt Riding
  • Accidents occurring whilst travelling to and from work
  • Riding and competing your own horse (but you can upgrade when applying for membership to include this)
  • Public Liability – this is a separate insurance policy - the Freelance Groom Liability Insurance
  • Care Custody and Control – this is a separate policy - the Freelance Groom Liability Insurance
