Let the competition begin!

This morning the lights were on in Barn 6 very early, before sunrise. Everyone was working hard. Horses being walked, brushed, plaited and got ready for the trot up.

We've been here for a week now and it's finally time to start getting serious!

The trot up started at 8am. It was run with military precision and each team had a precise time to be ready.

All the horses looked fantastic and it felt amazing that all the hard work over the last few months was actually showing.

For Carl and Charlotte, it is the first time that our two horses have experienced anything like this and I was extremely proud of how they presented themselves.

There was a mass of press gathered to watch and film and photograph everything and it is a lot for young inexperienced horses to take in but Del and Freestyle could not have behaved better.

They had some exercise later in the day and then they had a nice peaceful afternoon.

The times are now out and we are now getting ready for two days of competition to decide the team competition, however......we are going to bed tonight praying the weather doesn't interrupt things!!

Catch up tomorrow,

Alan
