A GROOMS LIFE BLOG

Go out there and make it happen

We chatted to BGA member Kathryn Henderson about her likes, dislikes and dinner with Harry Styles.

Who do you work for?
I’m a groom for Sarah and James Oakden, at Team Oakden in Fife, Scotland. It’s a competition and schooling yard and I’ve been there for almost 18 months.

Love my job because…
I enjoy working with so many different horses and seeing them achieve their goals.

I least like…
Cold, wet and miserable days!

My favourite horsey moment so far…
Is watching my own horse Neil grow and develop. I loved watching my boss James riding him at events last season and see him grow in confidence and maturity.

I’d most like to go to dinner with?
Harry styles.

Outside work you will find me
At home on the West Coast of Scotland if am off, or chilling in the static caravan!

Best piece of advice I’ve been given is…
“Go out there and make it happen.”

In 2019 I’d love to…
Enjoy and have a successful year eventing with Neil.

I love the BGA because…
They support you and give great advice and information to grooms all over the country. They also look after their members.
