A GROOMS LIFE BLOG

Groom of the Month

Our first Groom of the Month award goes to BGA member Polly Holbrook who has been recognised for her dedication, skill, reliability and efficiency.

Polly is home groom to Laura Collett, winner of Badminton Horse Trials 2022.

Laura nominated Polly, describing her as ‘simply the BEST’.

Laura went on to say;

“I can trust her implicitly to run the yard in my absence in total faith that all the horses and staff are looked after with the same level of attention to detail as when I am at home. My horses & I are her No 1 priority at work she’s reliable, efficient, fair a great communicator & fun. She’s often one step ahead of me and her great white board motivational messages are always welcomed and on point! I can honestly say I’m privileged to have Polly in my team and it’s enabled when I am away competing for me to truly know I have the greatest Home Groom running my yard so I don’t worry & can do my best at my job. She’s a star & an unsung hero.”

Read an interview with Polly within our next edition of British Grooms magazine.

It was incredibly difficult selecting a winner for the award as all the nominations were fantastic, a reflection of how hard working and devoted grooms are.
