An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing social enterprise in the Scottish Borders with Eat Sleep Ride. Through the use of horse riding, and all that comes with the caring of horses, Eat Sleep Ride have set out to achieve meaningful and lasting positive health, learning and social change for the youth communities of Berwickshire and beyond. Eat Sleep Ride offers employees ongoing training and support. Eat, Sleep, Ride is a social enterprise and Community Interest Company providing horse riding lessons, recreational hacks, horse care and welfare. Our project provides these opportunities for people living with ill health (including mental health & physical disabilities), drug and alcohol issues, who are isolated, vulnerable or those facing poverty and deprivation. These opportunities are providing our participants with therapeutic activities, skills development, increased confidence, improved wellbeing and most importantly new friendships, as well as a sense of personal & professional responsibility. Were looking for a trainee groom/instructor to work full-time (5 days a week). The role also includes helping to maintain the fields including picking up poo and filling up water buckets. This will involve driving the quad bike and its trailer. The role will also include some administrative tasks such as updating databases, responding to emails and making bookings such as riding lessons and farrier and vet appointments. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are therefore a must.
