NEW FOREST HAMPSHIRE - EXPERIENCED GROOM/YARD MANAGER - Live in or out. Non smoker and driver with own car essential. Top negotiable salary with excellent single accommodation on offer if required.

Clients live in residence for only July and August annually, so a really reliable, completely all-round knowledgeable person is required to care for the 5 horses, who are gently ridden. These include a retired dressage Friesian gelding of considerable fame, 18 hands and now enjoying his retirement, 3 TB ex racers (2 mares and I gelding). One of the mares is in foal, hence foaling experience and handling of foals would be an advantage - but superb local veterinary assistance close too.

The groom must be responsible for all aspects of the horses' care, health and wellbeing in conjunction with top notch veterinary practice locally. Oversight of all medical issues, worming, farrier, bringing in and turning out, care of all horse equipment and mucking out, tack cleaning, exercising.

The property has a significant equestrian complex including a dressage arena, stabling with eight loose boxes, tack room, kitchen, WC and feed room, rug room, stable yard with central seating and holding area, a flood lit outdoor arena and six substantial water fed paddocks with an advanced drainage system and field shelters. The entire area is fully secured with reinforced fencing and provides excellent grooms quarters. The estate yard lies below the dressage area and includes a large hay barn, log and machinery stores.

You must drive and have your own car, thought a vehicle for business use is available to all staff on the estate. Lovely and unusual single accommodation is available. (1 dog considered, but ideally somebody without pets sorry is preferred. MUST be non-smoker.

When clients are in residence for 2 months only each year, all staff are required to muck in and muck out, so flexibility is absolutely essential, along with a professional and friendly personality.

Salary circa £20,000 -£22,000 per annum negoitable for the right candidate.

Minimum of 5 years experience required with excellent references which will be checked thoroughly.
