Archie Watson Racing is seeking a motivated Assistant Head Person to join our professional and friendly team at our yard in Upper Lambourn.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and enthusiastic individual to play a key role within the team, assisting the Head Groom and Assistant Trainer in the day-to-day running of the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Head Groomand Assistant Trainer with the smooth running of the yard
- Overseeing the yard at weekends on a rota basis
- Daily checking and monitoring of horses
- Feeding and general horse care
- Assisting vets
- Providing routine medical care and treatments
- Riding (if requested, not essential)
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a racing yard
- Confident and capable
- Strong horsemanship and attention to detail
- Reliable, organised and able to take responsibility
- Good team player with a positive attitude
Working Pattern & Benefits:
- Working 1 in 2 weekends with an afternoon off each week.
- Good rate of pay
- Share of pool money
