New Strategic Plan focusing 100% on Good Employment.

Following the successful Good Employment Week the BGA has launched the Strategic Plan for the next four years, focusing 100% on Good Employment.

The new Strategic Plan sets out their commitment to move the equestrian industry to a place where only Good Employment is delivered and acceptable.

As a well-established social enterprise that has its members at the heart of everything it does, the BGA works hard to educate all grooms to understand what Good Employment is and encourage them to accept nothing less.

“Stable staff perform a critical role in the success of an equestrian yard and the welfare of the horse. We wish for all grooms to only ever work in professional, caring, viable businesses where the legalities are adhered to, and their wellbeing is paramount," says BGA Chairman, Chris Hewlett.

“The BGA has totally changed how we as grooms are thought of and that now we really do matter. That we are just as important to the success of the team as our horses and our rider. We are valid members of the team.

This recognition is a huge step forward for us as grooms and is a significant part of Good Employment. Making employment legal with correct pay, good management, and mutual respect is key to keeping grooms within the workforce.”
Heidi Troniseck, #Supergroom to Richard Davison

The new Strategic Plan outlines the Vision for the next four years, setting the tone of future plans to advocate, educate on and support Good Employment, as the only way to sustain the workforce of the equestrian industry.

The BGA's sister association the Equestrian Employers Association (EEA), also has a new Strategic Plan to educate employers to provide Good Employment by being legal, fair, and kind.

By the end of 2027 the BGA and the EEA expects the equestrian industry to be a place of only Good Employment.

Being EPIC

The BGA and the EEA are working together to achieve their Vision, as it requires collaboration to bring about change. Both organisations strive to be EPIC by delivering upon their values:

E – Excellence
