British Grooms Association founder and Executive Director Lucy Katan has received her MBE from His Majesty King Charles III during an Investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Tuesday 7th July.

The honour recognises Lucy's outstanding services to sport and the equestrian industry through her tireless work championing grooms.

The ceremony marked the culmination of an incredible journey that began when Lucy was named in the King's Birthday Honours last year.

During the presentation, King Charles was interested in the British Grooms Association's mission to achieve Good Employment for all grooms.

His Majesty asked about the work of the BGA and even jokingly quizzed Lucy on which equestrian disciplines had the best – and the worst – employment standards.

"Receiving my MBE from His Majesty was an unforgettable experience. This honour may have my name on it, but it represents every groom and strengthens our determination to continue campaigning for the respect, recognition and Good Employment standards that all grooms deserve."

Everyone at the British Grooms Association is immensely proud of Lucy and this well-deserved recognition.
