Grooms Minds Mental health support from British Grooms Association

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Grooms Minds is an online resource dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of BGA members.

When it comes to our mental health, recognising, or admitting we’re not 100% or ‘not ourselves’ isn’t always that easy. When we realise or admit we need some support, what do we do then?

The life of a groom can be complex, and so this bespoke project aims to support all that work with horses.

WHY GROOMS MINDS

The first step in this important project was to discover how widespread the problem was. A survey was run in October 2017 and the results were shocking reading - they can be viewed here

As part of the project the BGA has signed up to the Sport and Recreation Alliance Mental Health Charter.

With the funding support from British Dressage, British Showjumping, British Eventing, the BHS, World Horse Welfare, the Pony Club,  and a couple of generous donors, the Grooms Minds initiative was made possible.

How can I help? If you would like to enable the BGA to develop this project further please contact us
