BGA Launches Ambassadors

At the British Grooms Association (BGA), we passionately believe in reinvesting in our profession which is why we have recruited some of the industries elite grooms to help educate and inspire a generation of super grooms.

Our carefully hand-picked Ambassadors will be sharing some of their amazing experiences, professional skills and knowledge on a regular basis via our new e-news, website and social media, for us all to enjoy.

Our Ambassadors are Alan Davies (Charlotte Dujardin and Carl Hester), Jackie Potts (William Fox Pitt), Mark Beever (Nick Skelton), Tara Sleafer (polo) and Kate Vickers (Freelance).

Alan Davies, who has groomed for over 30 years, says, “I am really pleased to be asked to be an Ambassador for the BGA. I love my job, I feel I have a really important part in the team and take it really seriously. If I can help encourage and inspire other people in the industry it will be amazing as we need more great grooms!”

Jackie Potts said, “I feel it's very important for grooms to join the BGA as not only is it a fantastic organisation through which grooms can meet but one day we may all need help and advice from someone who understands the situation we are in and who can point us in the right direction.”

Lucy Katan, Executive Director of the BGA added, “Although we welcome all levels of grooms to belong to the BGA, I am personally delighted that we are now attracting the highest profile grooms on the circuit too. We created the BGA Ambassadors to ensure that all grooms realise that no one is too senior or too ‘cool’ to be a member. The experience between the current group totals 15 Olympic Games, countless World Games, European Championships, Medium Goal Polo and numerous groom awards and it is a pleasure to be have them as part of our team.”
