BGA Speak at 'BE' Good Business Day

On Thursday 23rd February the BGA were delighted to attended the BE Good Business Day to help educate employers on the challenges of employing staff in the equine environment.

Although the day had been organised by BE, there was a mixture of up and coming riders and employers in the eventing, dressage and showjumping sectors.

Executive Director, Lucy Katan, said, "I was impressed with the positive approach from the delegates, and the interest in how the BGA could assist with employing their staff within the law. At the BGA we are here to help both employers and employees work together. Days like these are so important to aid education within our industry."

The talk included information about NMW, contracts, the importance of grooms personal accident insurance and, very topically, how to avoid the HMRC knocking on the door.
