Professional event rider and former elite groom India Thomson has joined the SPILLERS® Team as Care-Line Nutritionist. With her considerable knowledge and practical experience as a horse owner, rider and groom she adds further strength to the Care-Line’s exemplary service.

India has grown up with horses and has a varied competitive background across all disciplines. Having successfully passed the prestigious Pony Club A Test she set up a successful competition yard in Suffolk and spent her time competing, producing horses, and point to pointing. India went on to focus on eventing and learnt a huge amount while employed as stable jockey for William Fox-Pitt. She enjoyed riding William’s top horses and travelled to some of the world’s top events with him. Her highlights included giving Chilli Morning his last gallop before the Europeans and leading her favourite Seacookie into the prize giving after he won Pau 4*.

India says, “My time as a groom has given me invaluable hands-on experience that has definitely help me to broaden my prospects and progress my career. As Care-Line nutritionist I look forward to being a friendly voice for SPILLERS® customers, helping them to find the best feed for their horses.”

India now enjoys competing Shacklesborough her delicate and quirky ex-racehorse at 2* level and is also a milliner in her spare time. She said: “With more than 15 years of practical experience with horses I am really excited about next phase in my career. As Care-Line nutritionist I look forward to being a friendly voice for SPILLERS® customers, helping them to find the best feed for their horses.”
