Amy Akehurst has been crowned the winner of the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials Grooms Award 2019, sponsored by Treehouse Sporting Colours.

Amy, who works for Tom Crisp was awarded over £1,600 of Treehouse Sporting Colours Products for the hardest working Badminton Groom, as judged by the Stable Manager over the course of the week.

Amy said, “We are all in it for the same reason, to do our best for our horses and riders.

Just to have that notice that we are working hard is great.  It is lovely to shine a bit in the public eye as we are behind the scenes and people don’t always get to see.”

Theresa Morris, Director of Treehouse Sporting Colours said, “‘Treehouse are passionate about supporting the grooms and recognising all of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. We are proud to acknowledge the skills and dedication of grooms and delighted to give something back to the industry.”

The prize was presented at the final trot up inspection in front of Badminton House by Theresa and BGA's Fi Boughton.

Treehouse Sporting Colours are proud to sponsor the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trails Grooms Award for the third consecutive year. As part of their winning prize Amy also gets a years free membership to the British Grooms Association.
