Who are we? Loch Leven Equine Practice is a family run equine veterinary practice established in 2005, based just outside Kinross. Our aim is to provide all of our clients (human and equine) across Central Scotland with a friendly and compassionate service whilst striving for the highest level of clinical care.

What are we looking for? Loch Leven Equine Practice is seeking a groom to join our wonderful team. Our new groom will join our two equine vet nurses, one qualified and one in training, assisting in all aspects of horse care (including surgery), some admin and lots of cleaning! We are looking for someone who has a good understanding and knowledge of being a groom. Full in-house training will be given to develop the additional skills required to assist the vets and nurses.

What does the role involve? The role will involve caring for our in-patients, assisting vets both in at the clinic and out on the road, running worm egg count samples and maintaining high cleanliness and biosecurity standards. This includes lots of cleaning and disinfecting around the practice and will vary between stables, surgery, exam rooms and equipment/instruments. No two days are the same!

What are the hours? Our new groom will be required for 4 days per week, which could be negotiable for the right person, however flexibility is required to help cover holidays and/or sickness. This role will also involve joining the on call nursing rota. The on call nursing rota will be based on 1:4 weeknights and 1:5 weekends. What skills to I require? Full UK driving licence Experience and confidence to handle a variety of horses. Your role will involve handling horses for various veterinary procedures including lameness, diagnostic imagery, dentals etc Honest and hard working An ability to use your own initiative and be a team player Excellent attention to detail
