Contract type:Open to Permanent & Fixed Term contracts
Hours:48 hours per week, 12 days from 14 - every other weekend off.
About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for two Stud Hands to join our Team at The National Stud for sales preparation and continuing through to the 2024 breeding season.
This role includes all aspects of horse care, and the successful candidates will have had experience in the handling of horses. You will have the opportunity to work with mares, foals and yearlings as well as assisting in the stallion shed when needed. The National Stud offers the opportunity for continual learning and development, with mentoring in the key areas needed for career progression.
On site self-catered accommodation can be provided if required. Competitive salary offered dependent on experience.

The Stud Hand will
Assist with all aspects of horse care and yard work including feeding and checking horses and
mucking out stables.
Complete Paddock and general stud maintenance
Assist with the vet and farrier.
Assist with the day-to-day care of mares, foals, and yearlings.
Assist with the team in the covering shed.
Comply at all times with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
About you
Experience in handling horses.
An Excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills
Hold a Full driving licence.
Great understanding of Health & Safety legislation
