SEARCHING FOR A GREAT GROOM

We are a successful not for profit social enterprise with sixteen horses of various ages and sizes providing equine facilitated learning, seeking an experienced groom to join our successful team
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience of handling horses and ponies of all types and backgrounds
- Enjoy hard physical work in all weathers
- Be able to drive ATV and use farm machinery or be willing to learn this as a priority
- Hold BHS Stage II Care or be willing to study and take this as a priority.
- Have reliable transport due to remote location
You will be responsible for care of horses and ponies including maintaining a clean, safe environment in stable, field and on site; care of horses and ponies including grooming, putting on and removing rugs and drying rugs, taking to and from field, clearing manure and otherwise maintaining fields and site, provision of clean, safe forage, feed and bedding; participating in rehabilitation including work on the ground; participation in provision of equine facilitated learning to people of all ages; participation in organising and running various on site events.
We can offer a fabulous working environment on a beautiful yard comprising 40 acres of post and rail fenced improved grazing, four arenas including a new indoor arena, large new internal stables in American barn, with a friendly team
All BHS examinations paid by employer including transport and accommodation for exam.

Working hours are 20 hours per week over three to five days
Start and finish times can be flexible to accommodate employee commitments
